Superior Police seek information on missing woman

The Superior Police Department is asking for tips from the public about a woman who has been missing since last week.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ashley Braaten has been out of contact since Friday, Nov. 12. She has been entered into the federal missing persons database.

"While we have no evidence to suggest Ashley’s disappearance is related to any nefarious activity, the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are concerning and many are concerned about her. We’d like to check her welfare if we can find a way to contact her," police wrote in a social media post.

Police say Braaten may own a red 2005 Fort 500 sedan with Minnesota license plates "FEZ 001."

Anyone who has recent information on Braaten is asked to call 911. Anonymous tips can be submitted at https://www.ci.superior.wi.us/509/Anonymous-TipsAlerts.

This article has been updated after police said the vehicle is licensed in Minnesota, not Wisconsin.
