As our nation and our state continues to see a worker shortage due to the effects of the pandemic. One community is actively trying to combat that with a new campaign.

In superior the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce Group reported 9/10 businesses are unable to fill jobs. Leaving businesses to compete to fill their work forces. To draw in more workers the Superior-Douglas County Area Chamber of Commerce started the "Lots of Jobs Lots of Living" campaign.

A new website was created as a data base for jobs and information on the area to remind people of the plentiful opportunities. Chamber President and CEO Taylor Pedersen says they, “talk to [their] members frequently so we're going to ask them: Where are you seeing your members? And as things progress in the right direction, where are you seeing your employee's coming from?”

The campaign is open to everyone and will be showcasing all types of job opportunities. You can reach the site here if you are interested in job opportunities within the area.

Taylor also added that as consumers face the shortage, the best thing to do is to be patient with the workers available. He says “it’s a continuous struggle” and that “as a chamber of commerce we ask for patience”.
