A newer Christmas tradition was back on Thursday at Fairlawn Mansion in Superior after taking last year off due to COVID-19.

The Holiday Sampler was raising money to repair one of the ceilings in the historic mansion. People enjoyed drinks and treats as they listened to music and bid in the silent auction.

"We decorate Fairlawn Mansion from top to bottom. The first floor is fully-restored, so it really resembles what the Pattison life was like here and less restoration as you go up, so you can see what life was like for the Pattisons as well as when it was a childrens’ home for 42 years," said Megan Meyer, the executive director of Superior Public Museums.

There are more opportunities to see Fairlawn decked out for Christmas. Their Twinkling Holiday Evenings will take place every Tuesday evening in December from 5:30 to 7:30.
