The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) announced they plan to start the season on Sunday June 28th.

"It was originally supposed to be a 14-game schedule. We had to drop it down to a 10-game schedule and wanted to kind of space out the games a little more and limit contact between the players," explained Kaden Bergman the WPASL President. "All players have to follow guidelines such as staying home if they feel ill, getting tests if they're traveling. Things like that to make sure we're not spreading the virus," he added.

They league was originally set to begin in May.

Six teams will compete in a 10 game schedule. The teams are from Hayward, Merrill, Eau Claire, Saint Croix and there are two teams from Barron. The teams from Ashland and Duluth will not participate this season. The WPASL said there won't be playoffs, but a champion will be crowned on august 24th.

"We've had to go through a lot of steps, hurdles, follow a lot of guidelines and keep track of what's going on in order to get moving forward with this," said Bergman. "The guys are excited to get out and get going."
