It was part of the HydroFlight Sports Weekend. The equipment allows a person to go up to 30 feet in the air, leap headfirst through the waves like a human dolphin, and add twists and turns when getting comfortable.

The weekend long water sports are aimed to bring more family friendly activities to the resort.

"We're hoping to create something new and something long lasting for our community members," said Skyport Lodge owner Rachelle Christensen. "We're trying to bring some activity outside of Grand Marais. There's so much happening in the downtown area so we thought it would be really cool to honor lake life, sports, and summer because it's short lived up here," she added.

The water sports were an addition to the Sunday 'Music by the Lake' that takes place at the resort every Sunday throughout the summer.
