UWS' Callaway named program's first UMAC Player of the Year

On Monday University of Wisconsin Superior (UWS) women's tennis player Maya Callaway was named the programs' first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Year. 

The sophomore, along with her teammate Emily Wald, also earned All-UMAC First Team selections. 

The number one doubles pair closed off their season with a 6-3 record. Overall Callaway went 9-5 in doubles. 

Playing solely on the number one singles court Callaway went 9-4 overall including a perfect 5-0 conference record.

She ends the season with the all-time best career winning percentage in singles (.594). Wald wrapped on the season with the most singles wins in program history with 27. 

UWS finishes the season 6-9 in the UMAC semifinals.
