UW-Superior Postpones 34th Annual Alumni & Friends Golf Outing

Updated: May 12, 2020 06:47 PM

The University of Wisconsin-Superior has postponed the 34th annual Yellowjacket Alumni and Friends Golf Outing.

The event was originally scheduled for July 17 at Nemadji Golf Course.

This is the first time the event has been postponed.

According to the release UWS is hopeful it will be rescheduled sometime in 2020.

"We've been holding out on this announcement with the hope of still being able to hold our annual golf outing on the originally scheduled date, but with circumstances beyond our control, we've decided the right decision is for us to postpone," said UW-Superior Athletics Director Nick Bursik. "This is a difficult pill for us to swallow. Not only is our golf outing a great fundraiser for our department, but it is also an event that is looked forward to, not just by our alumni but for the community as a whole."

"If conditions allow, we're hopeful of being able to hold an event in August or September," Bursik said. "It could have a different look than what people are used to seeing, but in the end, if we can put a golf outing together that helps our department and unites our friends and alumni, we're excited to do so."
