UWS women blank Bethany Lutheran, men fall in OT

In a Yellowjacket soccer doubleheader on Friday the University of Wisconsin Superior (UWS) women shut out Bethany Lutheran, while the men fell to the Vikings in overtime.

Niya Wilson and Allison Alessi scored late in the second half to push UWS to a 2-0 victory over Bethany Lutheran. With the win the Yellowjackets stay perfect in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play and improve to 4-3 overall on the season.

Earlier the UWS men suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to Bethany Lutheran.

Protus Babaya scored early for the Yellowjackets in the 10th minute. Max Busch tied it up for the Vikings in the 72nd minute then scored the game winning goal in overtime.
