UWS earns 6th seed in NCAA regional tournament

Monday afternoon the University of Wisconsin Superior (UWS) softball team earned the sixth seed in their region in the NCAA DIII tournament selection show.

UWS earned the automatic bid after sweeping Northwestern University to claim their program's second Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) title over the weekend. 

The Yellowjackets (22-14) are set to face top seeded St. Olaf College boasting a 24-5 record.

The first round regional match is set for Friday, May 21st at 10am in Waverly, Iowa. 

They're one of 48 teams heading into the NCAA tournament. For the full brackets, click here.

The championship is set for May 27th through June 1st in Salem, Virginia.
