UWS' Kogawa, McKenna named WIAC Newcomer & Coach of the Year

The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s hockey team is taking home a slew of postseason awards after their stellar year.

The headliners are Ikki Kogawa, who was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s (WIAC) Newcomer of the Year, and Rich McKenna who was named WIAC Coach of the Year. Kogawa, a freshman forward, tallied 19 points off seven goals and 12 assists in his debut season UWS.

Three Yellowjackets snagged First-Team All-Conference nods (Jack Boschert, Tyler Ryder, Reed Stark), and three more earned honorable mentions (Justin Dauphinais, Blake Holmes, Daniel Rozsival). Dusty Bergstrom represents UWS on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
