UW-Superior Athletics kicked off their Week of Giving on Monday. The fifth annual event started with a Toys for Tots donation.
Student-athletes have scheduled special ways to give back to the community every day this week.
The cheerful activities have been modified with health and safety in mind. So, instead of having lunch with folks at New Perspective Senior Living, they're putting together gifts for the residents.
"It's super nice to know that we are still making a difference," said Emily Ward, president of UWS' Student Athlete Advisory Committee. "This is usually really big. It's a fun event to have our teams come together and know that we're helping out the community. So even though it looks different, it's still good to know we are able to help out those people that we normally do."
Nick Bursik, the Director of Athletics at UWS added, "we certainly recognize this year has been tough on everyone. To serve those that are in need right now, and to give back to those that pour into us, and invest into us, is really special."
