UMD (7-3) is off to their best start in nine seasons. They are preparing to put their skills to the test against Ohio State (7-3-2) in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) series. The Bulldogs are 4-2 in conference play, while the Buckeyes are 5-3-2 in the WCHA.

"We talked about being a team that people fear to play and just always being so gritty in the corners and being that annoying team out there," commented Bulldog sophomore forward Gabbie Hughes.

UMD is 69-19-13 all-time against the Buckeyes, and went 2-2 against OSU last season. Each team swept at home, with the Bulldogs sweeping in their last encounter on Jan. 18-19 at AMSOIL Arena by scores of 5-2 and 6-3.

Puck drop is set for 5:07 p.m. Friday in Columbus, and game two is set for Saturday at 2:07 p.m. For the full preview click here.
