UMD's Richards Repeats as NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year

For the second consecutive season, University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) junior center Justin Richards has earned the title of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference's (NCHC) Defensive Forward of the Year.


Richards served as the assistant team captain during the 2019-2020 season scoring a career-high 14 goals and 11 assists. He also tied the NCAA for most shorthanded goals with three, the most a Bulldog has scored in eight years.

Since joining the Bulldogs in 2017-18, Richards has skated in 120 games and has 66 points, 26 goals and 40 assists.
