Bulldogs Victorious Over St. Cloud State in "Battle for the Bone"

The 16th ranked UMD Bulldogs are now 3-0 with a solid defeat of a long-time rival.

UMD improved their record to 3-0 while also winning "the Bone". "The Bone" trophy goes to the winner of the annual matchup between these two long-time interstate rivals.

Throughout the night the Bulldogs scored six touchdowns from five different players.

Sophomore quarterback John Larson ran for one touchdown and threw for two others. One was a 48-yard strike to Jason Balts putting UMD up 21-0 midway through the first quarter. Larson completed 16 of 27 passes for 188 yards.

Senior Nate Ricci had a team-high three catches and hauled in a 20-yard reception early in the second half.

UMD held the Huskies to just 78 total yards the entire second half and 188 yards on the night.

Next up the Bulldogs will face Bemidji State University September 22 at home.
