Former Bulldog Anderson Gets Called Up by New Jersey Devils

Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey forward Joey Anderson received his first NHL call up from the New Jersey Devils on Friday.

The Devils announced the move via Twitter Friday afternoon which will make Anderson eligible to make his NHL debut Saturday as the Devils are set to host the Florida Panthers. Game time is set for 11 A.M.

The Roseville, Minn. native was drafted 73rd overall by the Devils organization in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Anderson played two seasons for the Bulldogs until he decided to forgo his final two seasons of NCAA eligibility last spring. He was a part of the 2018 NCAA Men's National Championship Team where the Bulldogs defeated Notre Dame.
