UWS Defeats Northland 6-3 in Opening Round of WIAC Championship Cup

The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's hockey team defeated Northland College 6-3 in the opening round of the WIAC Championship Cup.


The Yellowjackets' had six different goal scorers in the victory. They included Levi Cudmore, Conor MacLean, Lawson McDonald, Liam Blais, Ty Proffitt, and Chap Lopez. Northland's Kalib Ford led the Lumberjacks with two goals on the night.

Oscar Svensson made 25 saves as he got the win, while Taylor Unruh who made 10 saves and Gennaro Anzevino who made 19 saves split time between the pipes.

Rematch between the two teams is set for Saturday at 7:05 P.M. at Wessman Arena.
