UWS Scores Early, Defeats Tufts in Superior Showdown

In round one of the 2019 Superior Showdown, the UW-Superior men's hockey team defeated Tufts 2-1 Saturday evening at Wessman Arena.

Andrew Durham and Troy York each scored in the first period to put the Yellowjackets up 2-0. Durham scored on a power-play.

Nick Schultze scored for Tufts in the second period.

Sunday is the second day of the 2019 Superior Showdown. Bethel and Tufts will faceoff in the consolation game at 3:00 p.m., followed by the Yellowjackets and Marian in the title game at 7:05 p.m.

Marian has appeared in the championship game of all three Superior Showdowns, defeating the Yellowjackets 6-1 in 2017 and losing to Trinity 4-1 a year ago.
