Still I Run, an organization focused on supporting and inspiring those on their mental health journeys, is doing just that at Grandma’s Marathon this year. The nonprofit organization will have 12 runners racing as Charity Partners, with a goal of raising $15,500.

While the physical benefits of running may inspire some, it’s the mental release these runners are attracted to.

“Every day I either get a walk or a run in it is like my mood, my seasonal affective disorder, my anxiety, and my confidence has just had a really positive change,” Barbara Waters of Still I Run said.

“I need to keep this in my life because it’s not just chasing a goal of running a marathon, or going on a long run or whatever, it’s actually helping me heal,” Liberty Reyes said of Still I Run.

Still I Run participants’ stories will be told in full during WDIO’s Grandma’s Marathon broadcast on Saturday from 6:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
