State Tennis Championship For Denfeld's Demetri Bush

Duluth, Minn. - Cloquet's Kendra Kelley and Mesabi East's Ava Hill won state track and field titles on Saturday and the day before, David "Demetri" Bush of Duluth Denfeld won a State A Boy's Singles Tennis Title.

Day's later, he was helping out with a tennis camp this afternoon at Laura MacArthur Elementary School. On Friday, Bush won the title in straight sets and it still hasn't quite sunk in.

"It is Duluth Denfeld's first win and Duluth's second (as a city) and it was my senior year and last ever high school match, so it was really special," says Bush.

He plans to take the coming year off and continuing training with hopes of playing college tennis.

In 2002 - Duluth Marshall's Pete Torgrimson won the Class A Singles Title.
