Saints blank Knights, advance to UMAC finals

The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) men's tennis team blanked Martin Luther College 9-0 on Tuesday in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament semifinal.

The No. 1 team of Elliot Schneider and Jack Kearney won 8-2.

The No. 2 tandem of Jake Jolowsky and Carter Anderson won 8-5.

The No. 3 duo of Reed Kolles and Reece Patten won by an 8-6 margin.

In singles, Schneider improved to 11-0 this season. The win marked his 50th career singles victory. He became the 11th player in program history to hit that mark.

Kearney prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot. Jolowsky won 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot. Anderson dropped only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot.

Riley Versich dropped just two games in a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 spot for his seventh consecutive win. Bradley Golant also dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot.

The Saints advance to the UMAC Tournament finals. They'll face the winner of the University of Wisconsin-Superior and Northwestern.
