Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Defeats Proctor/Hermantown 4-2 in Season Opener

In prep girls hockey, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (CEC) defeated Proctor/Hermantown 4-2 in their season opener.

The Lumberjacks scored all four of their goals in the first period. Dana Jones scored first on the power play, followed by Taylor Nelson, Dea DeLeon (power-play), and Bella Harriman.

Down 4-1, Megan Madill put the Mirage on the board in the second period. Alyssa Watkins scored for Proctor/Hermantown in the third period making it 4-2.

Goaltender Araya Kiminski had 19 saves for CEC. Vivi Helquist had 20 saves for the Mirage, and Abby Pajari had 5.

Next, CEC (1-0) hosts Anoka/Spring Lake Park Saturday at 3 p.m. Proctor/Hermantown (0-1) hosts Hopkins/Park Saturday at 2 p.m.
