On Wednesday, the Proctor girls basketball team advanced to their first Section 7AA title game since the 2018-19 season, thanks to a last second bucket by Lily Smith, as the Rails won 46-44.
The Hilltoppers had control of the first half, as their defensive intensity kept Proctor at bay. However, in the second half, Proctor found their stride, and Smith delivered the highlight of a lifetime, scoring the game winning bucket.
Proctor will match up with Crosby-Ironton in the 7AA title game on Friday at 6 p.m. at UMD.
