Greenway was in the state tournament for the first time since 2001 and they were looking for their first title since 1992. It was also the 10th overall trip for the program.

Donte Lawson put the Raiders in front with a power play goal 2:20 into the game. Luke Schmidt scored at 4:10 in to tie it, in an interesting way. It wasn't ruled a goal right away as play continued and Lawson scored again. But, after a review, Schmidt's goal counted, which wiped out Lawson's second goal. Jackson Savoie would then scored a short-handed goal for the Crusaders 13:40 into the period. Greenway answered with a power play goal from Cameron Lantz 25 seconds later. The game was tied at 2 after one period.

St. Cloud Cathedral would scored twice in the second period. The first coming on a goal from Savoie 1:52 into the period. Jack Smith connected on a power play goal 14:33 into the period as St. Cloud Cathedral lead 4-2 after two periods.

Cathedral connected on an empty net goal from Nate Werner at 16:17 into the third period.
