Rangers Battle, but Mountain Iron-Buhl Falls to #2 Goodhue in State A Quarters

Minneapolis, Minn. - Allie Negen hit a big three-pointer to get Mountain Iron-Buhl within one point with just over 17 seconds to go and the Rangers looked to her to take a shot a desperation shot with 1.2 seconds to go for the win, but it didn't connect as #2 Goodhue advanced with a 50-48 win in the State A Girl's Basketball Quarterfinals at Maturi Pavilion.

Negen lead the Rangers with 15 points and also added 10 rebounds. Mountain Iron-Buhl is making their ninth straight appearance in the state tournament. She and three fellow seniors each started playing for the Rangers in 7th Grade, which means this was the sixth straight trip for those four seniors.

Lexie Lodermeier had 11 for the Wildcats in the win.

Goodhue advances to the State A Semifinals at Williams Arena on Friday at 2 p.m. while Mountain Iron-Buhl will play in the consolation semifinals on Friday on the campus of Concordia-St. Paul at 12 p.m.
