Esko Boys & Girls, Two Harbors Boys & Girls Find Success

In prep basketball Friday, the No. 5 Esko boys notched a road win while the Esko girls defeated Superior at home. Two Harbors boys and girls took down Cook County in their home doubleheader. 

The No. 5 Esko boys opened their season with a 89-54 win over Cloquet. Next, the Eskomos (1-0) face St. Paul Johnson Saturday on the road at 3 p.m. Cloquet (0-1) hosts Hermantown Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

The Esko girls took down Superior 61-40 in Esko. Kristy DeMuth led Esko with 25 points, while Sarah Wagemaker tallied 15 points. Emma Raye notched 10 points for the Spartans.

Next, Esko (3-0) begins a five game road stretch in Rush City. Tipoff against the Tigers is set for Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. Superior (1-2) will face Proctor on the road Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

Two Harbors hosted a doubleheader with Cook County. The Two Harbors girls improve to 2-0 after a 43-34 win over Cook County. Next, the Agates (2-0) travel to Ely Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Cook County will face Northeast Range Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

On the boys side, the Agates notched a 55-47 win over the Vikings. Two Harbors (1-1) heads back on the road Tuesday. They're set to face Duluth Marshall at 7:15 p.m. Next, Cook County hosts Cromwell-Wright Monday, December 16 at 4:45 p.m.
