Prep Basketball: Duluth Marshall girls win regular season finale, Duluth East boys best Cloquet

In prep basketball on Friday, the Duluth Marshall girls and Duluth East boys earned big home wins.

The Duluth Marshall girls took down Bigfork 85-45, to end their regular season on a six game winning streak. The Hilltoppers will enter the Section tournament 19-7. Bigfork dropped their third straight to enter the postseason 14-7.

The girls Section basketball playoffs begin Monday, February 23 and run through Friday, March 7.

Duluth East boys basketball defeated Cloquet 78-65. The Greyhounds’ LaDanian Bowman led the game with 23 points, while the Lumberjacks’ Jack Battaglia led the Lumberjacks with 22 points.

The Greyhounds improve to 8-15 on the season, while the Lumberjacks fall to 16-8. Duluth East next opens a three game road stretch to end their regular season, first visiting Eagan Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Cloquet next visits Rock Ridge Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. for their second to last regular season game.
