Ex-UMD Center Michelle Lowenhielm Joins NWHL's Connecticut Whale

Duluth, Minn. - Pro hockey is in Michelle Lowenhielm's future as the former UMD center is joining a team in the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL).

The 2014 Swedish Olympian will join the Connecticut Whale. She had 10 goals and 32 assists in 144 games over four seasons with the Bulldogs and becomes the first Swedish player to join the NWHL.

The Minnesota Whitecaps are now part of the league and this will be their first NWHL season.
