NSIC Track and Field Championship closes out weekend of competition at UMD

Day three of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Track and Field Championship wrapped up a weekend of competition on Saturday.

Several University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs still had eyes on conference titles in the final day of the meet.

In the women’s 1500-meter finals, UMD’s Madeline Verkerke and Rachel Ulrich would race off with the pack. Verkerke would come in fifth place with a time of 4:36.04, while Ulrich would place eleventh, with a time of 4:47.38.

In the men’s 1500 meter finals, it would be Noah Foster and Owen Dickenson in the running. Dickenson would take tenth with a time of 3:57.55, while Foster would take eighth with a time of 3:54.11 – which would be a new personal record for the sophomore.

And in the men’s 110-meter hurdles, UMD’s Sam Blomberg would stick to the front of the pack, placing fourth with a time of 14.41 seconds.

Minnesota State University Mankato would take both the men’s and women’s overall titles for the championship meet, with the men earning 194.5 points and the women earning 224 points. Click here for full meet results.
