Northwestern softball’s Ellie Peterson records 1000th career strikeout

This past week, one Northlander has joined an elite club, Ellie Peterson of the Northwestern softball team tallied her 1000th strikeout during the Tiger’s sectional game against Grantsburg.
In her senior season, Peterson played 23 games, tallying 19 wins and 4 losses. In those 23 games, she struck out 261 batters.
In her entire high school career, Peterson tallied 1007 strikeouts in 95 games played.
Northwestern ended their 2025 season with a 19-4 record, falling to Grantsburg in sectionals 7-0. Click here to view the full tournament bracket.
