The MSHSL held a board of directors meeting. Starting next season, some teams will change to different classes and sections.

Locally, Grand Rapids will move from Section 7AAAA to Section 8AAAA. That means the Thunderhawks will be in the same section as teams like Detroit Lakes, Little Falls and Willmar. Also in prep football, Cook-based North Woods will move from Class Nine-Man and play Class A ball as part of Section 7A.

Duluth Denfeld girls basketball will go from Section 7AA to Section 7AAA. Barnum basketball will now play in Section 5A for both boy's and girls. The Greenway volleyball team changes from Section 7AA to Section 7A.
