Coming off completing back-to-back sweeps the No. 4 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team can secure home ice for an National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) playoff series with two wins at No. 19 Western Michigan.

The Bulldogs won game one and fell in a shootout in game two against the Broncos back in January. UMD sits second in the NCHC standings. In third is Western Michigan who in their last 11 games have only lost one.

"They're really skilled, really heavy and really fast," explained junior forward Justin Richards. "Definitely going into their arena, it's a tough spot to play. We're going to have to bring it. We're going to have to weather some storms definitely because they feed off that energy," he added.

"Their first half wasn't what they wanted but they had a lot of injuries," said UMD head coach Scott Sandelin. "As soon as those guys got back, I think the weekend we played them was the first weekend, they had their full team back. Look at the way they've played since then."

Puck drop is set for 6:06 P.M. on Friday.
