The Yellowjackets used three second-half goals to gain separation from the Cougars. Sophomore Blake Perry (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) scored in the 51st and 76th minutes, sandwiched by a Miguel Ocampo (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) goal in the 52nd. Junior Esteban Badillo-Ramirez (Minneapolis, Minn./Fridley) scored his first NCAA goal, opening the scoring in the 32nd minute.
