Following a exhibition home clash with the University of Alberta on Oct. 5th, the two-time defending NCAA champion Bulldogs will launch their 76th season of intercollegiate competition on October 11th and 12th at AMSOIL Arena by hosting the University of Massachusetts-Lowell out of Hockey East.

UMD will face former rivals from their WCHA days, Wisconsin and Minnesota, during the 2019-20 campaign. On Oct. 18-19, UMD and Wisconsin will collide for the first time since the 2013 WCHA playoffs in Madison, Wis. and then it's back to AMSOIL Arena six days later for the start of a home-and-home set with another Big Ten member, Minnesota. After a bye week, the Bulldogs will return to the ice to open up their seventh season of National Collegiate Hockey Conference play with a Nov. 8-9 series against visiting University of Denver. The remainder of UMD's 17-game regular season home schedule includes matchups with Colorado College (Nov. 22-23), Minnesota State University-Mankato (Nov. 29-30), Western Michigan University (Jan. 10-11), the University of North Dakota (Jan. 24-25), the University of Nebraska-Omaha (Feb. 7-8) and St. Cloud State University (March 6-7). Denver, Minnesota State and St. Cloud State were all 2018-19 NCAA Tournament participants.

The Bulldogs will head east over the Christmas Holidays for rare Sunday-Monday (Dec. 29-30) series with Merrimack College. Head Coach Scott Sandelin won't accompanying the team on the UMD program's first-ever trip to North Andover, Mass., as he'll be serving as the U.S. bench boss at the 2020 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships in the Czech Republic.

UMD faces Colorado College, Denver, Omaha, St. Cloud State and Western Michigan four times each next season and the other two remaining NCHC members (North Dakota and Miami) just twice.
