Hilltoppers topple Concordia Academy to advance to Class AA semifinals

Duluth Marshall baseball put up double digit runs Wednesday rolling to an 11-4 victory over Concordia Academy in their Class AA state quarterfinal at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.

Concordia struck first with one run in the top of the third, but the Hilltoppers responded big in the bottom putting up eight runs to lead 8-1. Concordia added two runs in the fourth, but were matched in the fifth with two Marshall runs. The Hilltoppers tallied one more in the sixth, and Concordia in the seventh, closing out the game 11-4 in favor of Marshall.

Owen Marsolek led the Hilltoppers with two runs, two hits and two RBI, and threw four strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings allowing no runs, hits or errors. Mason Park started the match on the mound pitching two strikeouts.

Duluth Marshall (22-2) advances to the state semifinals for the first time since 2019, when they won the state championship. They will face Glencoe-Silver Lake Thursday at 11:30am at Dick Putz Field. For the full Class AA bracket, Click here.
