Hermantown Reclaims Section 7A Title to Return to State

The top-seeded Hermantown boy's hockey team shutout second seeded Duluth Denfeld 6-0 in the Section 7A championship game to return the State tournament.


After a scoreless first period, Zach Kilen scored halfway through the second to give Hermantown the 1-0 lead.

In the third period, Aydyn Down scores to double the Hawks lead. From there,  Kilen scores again, while Blake Biondi and Jackson Lucia score to make it 5-0 halfway through the third.

With seconds left in the game, Biondi scored his second goal to help the Hawks win 6-0.

The 2020 Minnesota State Boys Hockey tournament begins Wednesday, March 4th and runs through Saturday, March 7th. Tournament pairings and brackets are set to be released this weekend.
