Prep Soccer 8/24: Hermantown Boys Earn Shutout in Home Opener, Duluth Marshall Girls Fall

In prep soccer Saturday, the Hermantown boys defeated Chisago Lakes in their home opener while the Duluth Marshall girls dropped their second game of the season to Visitation. 


Hermantown shutout Chisago Lakes 2-0. Ayden Dowd and David Rutka scored the Hawks two goals, Dowd sinking the first of the match. Goaltender Zach Carson tallied seven saves for Hermantown.

Duluth Marshall fell 5-2 to Visitation in Duluth. Tori Thorson and Emilia McGiffert each scored for the Hilltoppers. 

Next, Duluth Marshall girls host Hibbing/Chisholm Tuesday at 2 P.M.. Hermantown boys face Duluth Marshall Tuesday at 5 P.M. at Duluth Marshall.
