A deeply rooted Plante in Hermantown has grown healthy again.

Suffering a hit that injured his shoulder in just the third game of the season, and sitting out since December 11th, Hermantown boy's hockey junior forward Zam Plante has returned to the Hawks.

"I've been waiting a while for this one," Plante said during practice on Wednesday. He noted that his recovery took, "a lot of [physical therapy] and just working everyday to make sure it's a little bit stronger and holds in my shoulder. I had it happen last spring as well so injuries have kind of been a story.

He added, "I've been here before and just trying to get back to the best player I can be." This is the timeframe he expected to make his return.

Plante began again practing this week, and said he'll be ready to play in time for two top 12 matchups against No. 12 St. Cloud Cathedral on Friday and No. 2 Warroad on Saturday.

At the time of his injury Zam was the team's leading scorer. Since then he's been proud to watch his younger brother, sophomore forward Max Plante step up. Max currently leads the team in assists with 19 and is tied for first in points with 21.
