Organizer's Pleased with Record Breaking Grandma's Marathon Weekend

With a four-peat victory by Kenya's Elisha Barno in the men's marathon, Wisconsin's Kellyn Taylor shattering the women's marathon event record this year's Grandma's Marathon Weekend did not disappoint. Monday after the race organizers say they are pleased with how the weekend went.

"We feel fantastic," said Grandma's Marathon Marketing and Public Relations Director Mandi Peterson. "I mean we were so fortunate with the weather. That was the biggest thing that was kind of looming over us and we were fortunate enough to have amazing weather for all of the runners. We heard so many stories about PR's and personal bests and we are just so thankful for that," she added.

The marathon weekend saw over 15,000 runners cross the finish line in their respective races. The next race under Grandma's Marathon is the Park Point 5-Miler scheduled for July 19.
