Grand Rapids baseball saw their push for a state title cut short Wednesday as they suffered a 10-0 loss to Delano in the Class AAA state quarterfinals at the Mini Met in Jordan, Minnesota.

Delano scored two runs in each of the first, second, and third innings to take an early 6-0 lead. Then in the fourth they put four on the board to bring the score to 10-0. The Thunderhawks were unable to break past the Tigers defense.

Grand Rapids (17-8) now falls to the consolation bracket. They will take on Stewartville in the consolation semifinals Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Chaska Athletic Park. For the full Class AAA bracket, Click here.
