The Puck dropped this Friday evening on the girls prep hockey season openers.

For the Rock Ridge girls squad Fridays game also marked the first game in their team history, as they just were created just this year.

They played host to the Two Rivers/ St. Paul Squad at home.

Rock Ridge was able to get on the board first with an early short handed goal by Ana Ovalle-Alfaro.

The Riveters however respond with 6 unaswered goals, winning 6-1.

Across the way on Friday night the Duluth Northern Stars hosted Princeton.

A five goal first period by the Stars capped off by an Alana Moline tally set the tone for the game.

As the Stars skate to a 14-1 victory.
