After Saturday's big win over Penn State, Fleck presented a game ball to the entire state in the locker room. Walz later posted on social media that he'd be happy to accept the game ball on behalf of all Minnesotans.

On Tuesday afternoon, Walz accepted the ball from Fleck on behalf of the state in the Minnesota locker room at TCF Bank Stadium.

Fleck talked about how important the fans were after the Gophers beat Penn State, 31-26, which moved Minnesota to 9-0 for the first time since 1904 and also catapulted the team to the No. 7 ranking in the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll. It's the first time the Gophers football team has been ranked in the top-10 in more than 50 years.
