The Esko boys basketball team couldn’t overcome Pequot Lakes in last years Section 7AA championship game, but reversed their fortune on Tuesday night, winning 58-50.

The game got off to a slow start for Esko, but Sam Haugen got them going, scoring the three baskets for Esko. Esko went into the half with the lead, and were able to hold onto it in the second half despite a strong push by Pequot Lakes.

Esko’s win is good for their 6th straight and 8th in their last nine games. They’ll look to keep the streak going against Carlton/Wrenshall on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
