Ely Leads Northlanders at State Nordic Ski

After coming in sixth in the freestyle race and avoiding a potential collision at the start of the classical race, Ely's Jasper Johnston placed fourth for the two-race, 10K meet to lead Northlanders.


Grand Rapids’ Sam Stertz followed by coming in 17th overall. In the boys team, Ely came in fourth while Cloquet-Esko-Carlton finished eighth.

On the girls side, Ely freshman Zoe Devine placed 12th at the state meet capping off her 15th birthday.

The next local girls finisher was Duluth East senior Clara Kramer who came in 14th overall.

Duluth East came in fourth overall on the girls side, while Ely took ninth.
