The Duluth Marshall girl's basketball team fell to Providence Academy 94-91 in the Class AA state quarterfinals Tuesday.

The match was held at St. Cloud Tech High School.

Hilltopper senior forward Gianna Kneepkens tallied a career-high 67 points in the final game of her high school career.

This also breaks the single game scoring record in Minnesota girl's basketball for either a tournament or regular season game.

"I was just trying to play my game and just play with my teammates and try and figure out what I could do to help my team win," said Kneepkens.

"She didn’t go out on her terms, the terms she wanted, but she went out with a bang," said Duluth Marshall head coach CJ Osuchukwu. "She gave us everything she had, every practice, every game, and she should be proud of herself."

Marshall finishes their season 18-3 overall in their second consecutive state tournament.
