On Thursday, Section 7AA third seed Duluth Marshall defeated cross-town and section rival Duluth Denfeld 5-2.

Just two and a half minutes into the first period, Duluth Marshall would get on the board thanks to Oden Brunette, and just two more minutes later teammate Samuel Berry would add another, giving the Hilltoppers a 2-0 lead. They would extend that lead in the second period with a goal from Kyler Black. In the third period, Marshall would keep the hot streak going with a goal from Bennett Scissons, then another from Tobias Mathias. Duluth Denfeld would rally in the third with a goal from Alexander Udd, then another fifteen minutes in from Mason Kingsley.
