Hundreds of Runners Compete in the Eveleth Lions/ Golden Bear CC Invitational

Hundreds of athletes from roughly two dozen programs raced at the 19th annual Eveleth Lions/Golden Bear Cross Country Invitational. It was held Thursday afternoon at the Eveleth Golf Course. Winners from the meet came from all around the Northland.

23 teams --809 runners registered weather: 82, cloudy and breezy

Girls "A" winner was Ava Hill from Mesabi East, time of 20:03 2nd Place was Sydney Binsfield from Proctor 3rd Place was Ashlee Siegel of the Marshall School 86 varsity runners, 13 full teams Team Champ: Proctor 87 Runner-up: North Shore 96

Girls "AA" winner was Molly Weberg from Duluth East, time of 21:15 2nd Place was Rebecca Miles from Duluth East 3rd Place was Lauren Cawcutt of Cloquet 64 vars plus JV runners, 4 full teams Team Champ: Duluth East 19 Runner-up: Hibbing 54

Boys "A" winner was Luke Olson from Ely, time of 17:05 2nd Place was Cameron Stocke, 8th grader from Virginia, time of 17:13 3rd Place was Noah Smith of North Shore 106 varsity runners, 14 complete teams Team Champ: North Shore 51 Runner-up: Ely 74

Boys "AA" winner was Blaine Bong from Cloquet, time of 17:34 2nd Place was Jordan Allen from Cloquet 3rd Place was Luke Lundell from Hibbing 121 vars plus JV runners, 3 complete teams Team Champ: Cloquet 27 Runner-up: Duluth East 32
