Superior, Wisc. - Fresh off its third consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championship, the UW-Superior men's soccer is headed Decorah, Iowa, to take on No. 14 Central Saturday at 3:30 p.m., in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

The Dutch have been at or near the top of the United Soccer Coaches North Regional rankings all season and earned an at-large selection to the field of 64 after falling in the America Rivers Conference semifinals to regional-host Luther.

Central, a first-time NCAA tournament team, enters the tournament at 14-3-2 on the season and had its four-match winning steak snapped in the ARC tournament. UWS and Central never met in men's soccer.

"We're excited to be back in the NCAAs again," said head coach Joe Mooney. "I think we are hitting our stride at the right time, and hopefully we can make some noise in the tournament."

The 'Jackets (16-3-2) became the first team in UMAC men's soccer history to win a match in the NCAA tournament in 2018, beating Augsburg, 2-1, Nov. 10. If they pull off the upset Friday, UWS faces the winner of the match between 16th-ranked Luther and Pricipia out of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Sunday.
