UMD Men 5th, UMD Women Receive Votes in Weekly USCHO Polls

UMD Men's Hockey split two games at Colorado College and they fall two spots in the rankings.

The Bulldogs are now fifth.

UMD has a bye this week before they'll host 7th ranked Denver next weekend. St. Cloud State is number one.

The UMD Women's Team hosts SCSU this weekend. The Bulldogs aren't ranked, but received votes.

The Bulldogs split a series at Minnesota. The Gophers are now ranked number one. Wisconsin is number two.

For her play in January, UMD Freshman Forward Gabbie Hughes is the WCHA Rookie of the Month. She lead all NCAA rookies with 12 points in January on six goals and six assists. Her six goals ranked second nationally. The Lino Lakes, Minn., native recorded a career-high three points against Minnesota State at the Minnesota Cup on Jan. 6 with two goals and an assist. Hughes had five multi-point games in eight outings for the Bulldogs over the month and currently leads the Bulldogs in scoring on the season with 29 points, the most by a UMD rookie since 2011-12. This is Hughes' first WCHA monthly award.
