Most players get their first taste of the game outside, so it was a return to their roots. Many area kids laced up their skates too. It is the fourth straight year that the Bulldogs have held an outdoor practice and yes, hockey players do get cold.

"These little kids are probably tougher than us as some of the guys were whining about it at little bit and these kids probably skate out here all the time," joked UMD Sophomore Goalie Hunter Shepard.

UMD (9-9-3, 3-7-0 in NCHC) is next in action on January 12th and 13th at Colorado College.
