After six weeks off, the UMD men's hockey team returned to action Friday and Saturday with a NCHC series against Western Michigan. The Bulldogs took home a win and a tie, and now boast the third longest active unbeaten streak in the country.

UMD is unbeaten in their last six games and, because of their streak, they've moved up to No. 8 in this week's poll. UMD is one of three NCHC clubs among the poll, along with North Dakota and Denver.

Bulldog goalie Hunter Shepard was also named the NCHC Goaltender of the Week, following their series against Western Michigan.  The Bulldogs will hit the road Friday and Saturday in St. Cloud for another conference series with the Huskies.

The UMD women have gotten used to sitting at the No. 10 spot, and that's where they stay put at in this week's poll.

The Bulldogs have occupied the No. 10 spot since the week of November 29th. They moved up following their Minnesota series to No. 9. The women will return to action at AMSOIL Arena this week for a WCHA series against Bemidji State.
